CONDITION OF WIGSLEY/SPALFORD CROSSROADS

Chairman welcomed Marion Goldacre, Clerk at Wigsley Parish Council and Cllr Maureen Dobson from Nottinghamshire County Council.  Cllr Dobson spoke passionately about the need for improvement of Wigsley/Spalford crossroads.  She spoke of the need for better signage and provision in the LCC budget.  Cllr Dobson spoke of past planning permission having been granted to local businesses with HGV's being a burden on the roads and suggested they would be better located on an industrial estate.

Cllr Thompson responded that he had been in touch with Lincs Road Safety Partnership and Highways regarding the state of the road and the need for possible weight restrictions.  He cited LCC's limited budget as a major factor in the delay in improvements.

Cllr Dobson expressed her wish to meet and work with Cllr Thompson on this subject.

Cllr Thompson reminded the Clerk about a recent email offering the opportunity for a walkabout with LCC representatives to point out our highways problem - Clerk will book a place for Cllr Russell.

A parishioner passed on her contact details to the Wigsley Clerk as she thinks she may have relevant information to the situation.  Wigsley Clerk to let us have further update following their October meeting.
