The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.  No parishioners attended.

It was resolved to adopt the Minutes as a true record and these were signed by the Chairman.

A schedule of payments made between 10th July and 31st August was circulated to the Parish Councillors - there were no queries.  Invoices paid via BACS were signed and countersigned as approved.

SEVERN TRENT

Clerk reported she had heard from Environment Agency who had said the issues raised weren't environmental issues - Clerk has asked for confirmation on this.

Clerk has spoken to the MP's office - MP is intending to write to Severn Trent.

NKDC Cllr Overton will seek information from Trent Drainage Board at his meeting, although TDB aren't involved, he may get useful information.

7.52pm NKDC Cllr Peter Overton joined the meeting

It was resolved to write to PCs at Harby, Eagle and Swinderby to find out if they have any similar issues.

LITTER PICKING GRANT

It was resolved to approve the application and report previously circulated by the Clerk.  Clerk will forward same to NKDC.

WELLS CLOSE

Developer has confirmed one of the developments on Eagle Road will be named Wells Close in memory of Barbara Wells.  Cllr Jennings proposed PC write to developers for confirmation that the affordable housing criteria will be adhered to in order to assist young people in the village.  It was resolved to do so.

HIGH STREET SIGNAGE

PC have received an anonymous complaint that the flower boxes on the White Hart Public House are partially obscuring the High Street sign.  PC not obliged to act on anonymous correspondence, but agreed this needs addressing and Cllr Russell confirmed he has spoken to the owner who has agreed to rectify this.

30MPH PASSIVE NOTICES

PC have received comments from three parishioners regarding the placement and appearance of the 30mph passive notices.  After consideration it was resolved that the signs have been placed at locations where speeding has been reported to the PC and that they should remain for the safety of the parishioners.

Cllr Honey has written to the Clerk to report speeding on Church Lane.  PC will consider a further sign on Church Lane at a cost of £50 at the next meeting.

WHITE HART PUBLIC HOUSE

It was resolved to renew the Community Asset listing on the building.

VE DAY CELEBRATIONS

It was resolved to advertise for volunteers for this potential event.

LCC CLLR MIKE THOMPSON'S REPORT

Cllr Thompson was unable to attend but had sent a short report to the Clerk which was read out and is attached.

NKDC CLLR PETER OVERTON'S REPORT

  • Purple bin recycling project running in the county.
  • Side rubbish - involves extra vehicles and encourages people to create more waste.
  • He had attended a Climate Change Conference at Lincoln University and Cathedral. 
  • Revised Central Lincs Local Plan.

Parish Councillors' commented

  • inconvenience of closure of Whisby Tip - this is an LCC matter.

PARISH COUNCILLORS' COMMENTS

Mill Dam Dyke hasn't been cleared on School Lane.  It was resolved to contact Newark Drainage Board.
